Extreme Airsoft doing it right

I went out to the Extreme Airsoft 6 year anniversary bash this past weekend. I have to say this is a place that knows how to do things right. The owners are constantly improving the playing field and pro shop.

For their event they had airsoft celebrities from all over the country attending. Just a few were Sisu Milsim, Unicorn Leah, Jet Desert Fox, and a few more. Several vendors were in attendance from G&G Armamant, Tippman, Polarstar, Valken, Elite Force, and Spartan. This was a huge event for airsoft in New England and is showed by the attendance. At about 1:00 PM I was advised that approximately 600 people including players and spectators had walked through the doors. Approximately 300 of them were players who not only played but received a free lunch and participated in the raffle.

The celebrities all were friendly and seemed to truly enjoy interacting with the players and spectators. They had no problem signing autographs, taking pictures or just talking to the players and attendees of the event. I will admit I was a little unsure of what to expect when I spoke to them but was pleasantly surprised at how easy they were to talk to and how much they all seemed to be enjoying being there.

The staff at Extreme were awesome and very friendly taking their time to talk to everyone and make sure they didn’t need anything. I will be talking to the staff in the next few days and recording an AAR of the event. If you get a chance to make it out to Extreme I highly suggest you do so. You won’t be disappointed.

So how is this an opinion piece? Well it is my opinion that these guys do it 100% right. Extreme is run like a business not a social club. They focus on professionalism and quality and it shows. Other field owners should definitely take a page out of their book. Too many times I have played where the “Home team” runs the games and has the attitude that it’s “Their” business and the owners take their word over issues rather than the word of the paying customers.

When I was on my previous team we were the house team and the owner ALWAYS sided with the house team on issues. They could do no wrong so I left that team and with a few other members who didn’t agree started Assault Team Flashpoint. Now that business is no longer and even after a second start up the business failed. I have personally been blamed for both failures. I guess it’s easier to point the finger at someone else than to look in the mirror. The house team is also no longer a team. Had this owner taken a page out of Extreme’s book he probably would have still been in business and doing well.

Luckily another paintball business in the area has jumped into the airsoft game with both feet filling the gap that was left in the area. He too is focusing on the business end as well as customer service and it is showing.
